  • Maintain and clean your sidewalks to prevent slip and falls due to ice and snow buildup. Read the label on ice melt products to prevent damage to concrete sidewalks.
  • Clean snow from around vents for dryers and also gas furnaces. Gas furnaces have a safety feature that will shut down the unit if it is not properly venting.
  • If you leave for vacation during the winter months turn off your main water valve, make sure you have sufficient fuel for your furnace, never turn your thermostat below 55 degrees as water pipes located of outside walls may freeze.
